This privacy policy explains how LivingECHO collects, protects and uses your information.

LivingECHO may use data collected in the course of your visiting our site or in our other communications with you for the purposes identified in this policy. Such data may be stored on servers located in the United States. By continuing to use the LivingECHO website, you are accepting the terms and conditions described in this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect is stored and used to help us learn how to continually improve the shopping and/or selling experience for you. Providing personal information is completely optional; however, choosing not to give your personal information may restrict your use of certain features. The privacy of your information is important to us, and it is highly protected. We will not sell your information to any third-party marketers, companies or individuals.

Information LivingECHO May Collect

We collect information from you when you search, buy products or services, post, participate in our forums, answer questionnaires, and/or communicate with our Customer Service Department. Specifically:

  • LivingECHO may collect non-personal information based on your use of our Search functions or through the use of cookies that can help us personalize your shopping experience on LivingECHO.
  • If you choose to purchase products through LivingECHO, we may collect shipping and billing information. You may also choose to give us an email address for Order Confirmation and/or Shipment Confirmation email. Saving this information is completely optional.
  • We will collect your email address when you become a member of LivingECHO, for purposes such as authenticating your user account, sending you self-publishing and transaction confirmation emails, and sending invoices for products you have purchased. (You can choose whether or not you also wish to receive email or other mail from LivingECHO about eco-friendly products and services on our site by adjusting your Email Settings on the Your Account page.)
  • We may collect personal information if you choose to post feedback comments or if you provide us with your Company Profile. We may use this information and post it to forums, FAQs and Users' Reviews. Please do not post any personal information or comments on LivingECHO's forums that you expect to keep private.
  • If you set up a Business Account, LivingECHO will collect personal information, credit card and/or bank information. Saving your credit card and/or bank information is completely optional.
  • Our web logs collect standard web log entries for each page served when you visit the LivingECHO website, including the page URL, your IP address and a time stamp. Web logs help us to diagnose problems with our server, to administer the LivingECHO site and to otherwise provide the best service to you.

All LivingECHO forum postings, comments, emails, videos, and articles and all user account information are stored in our database indefinitely, as are our web logs.

Protecting Your Privacy

LivingECHO does our best to protect your privacy by taking the following measures:

  • We protect the security of your personal and financial information by using a financial gateway protected with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) software to encrypt credit-card and e-checking transactions during transmission.
  • We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card number when confirming an order with you.
  • We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your account information is password-protected. Keep your password safe. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Please be sure to sign off before closing your web browser if you are using a shared computer.

Although we make good-faith efforts to store information in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security. We will notify you if there are any security failures.

  • LivingECHO may disclose information about its users, including personal and/or financial information information, if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal processes.
  • LivingECHO may disclose information about its users, including personal and/or financial information, when necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of LivingECHO, our users or affiliates, or others.
  • In circumstances other than those set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties and will have an opportunity to direct us not to share the information.
  • If you have a member account, LivingECHO will give you access to your own up-to-date information regarding your recent orders; personal information such as your name, email address, password, shipping address, and billing address; your payment settings, such as credit card information and bank account information; and your email notification settings.

General Provisions

LivingECHO is not responsible for the practices and privacy policies of third-party websites or of entities who post on LivingECHO.

This policy is effective July 12, 2007 for current users and is effective upon acceptance for new users. The last update/amendment to this policy was July 12, 2007.
